Locos por Juana premieres the official video for their new single “Se Fue La Luz” (The Light’s Went Out) featuring ChocQuibTown today on Billboard. This digital premiere will be followed by a TV premiere on Telemundo’s highest-rated show, Al Rojo Vivo on September 16th at 4:00pm ET and go live on VEVO at 6:00pm ET.
The video, directed by French Produccion (ChocQuibTown, Zion y Lenox, Rakim, Arcange), one of the most respected video directors in the Latin industry, reflects the strengths and cultural influences of both groups. It was filmed in a historic neighborhood of Baranquilla called El Barrio Abajo, famous for being the main attraction for visitors and the cultural Mecca for partying. Today it has been somewhat forgotten and the video pays respect to its rich history.
“The brotherhood of ChocQuibTown and Locos por Juana goes back many years; it is reflected in this song and its music video,” says Locos por Juana’s frontman, Itawe.
Since its release, “Se Fue La Luz” written by Locos por Juana’s frontman, Itawe, and ChocQuibTown’s Tostao and siblings Goyo and Slow Martinez, has been making huge waves across a variety of media platforms. The single is a fresh mix of the band’s hometown intrepidness combined with finely honed Colombian artistry.
“We shared the same vision for the musical concept: of merging folklore with modern rhythms,” adds ChocQuibTown’s Tostao.
