In some way, shape, or fashion, animated features can grab and grip our attention. With stories that go beyond our wild imaginations, they serve their purpose, steal our hearts, and live within us to an extent based on its moral-of-the-story. It’s a formula they all follow and WONDER PARK is not different.
June (voiced by Brianna Denski), an optimistic, imaginative girl, discovers an incredible amusement park called Wonderland hidden in the woods. The park is full of fantastical rides and talking, funny animals – only the park is in disarray. She soon discovers the park came from her imagination and she’s the only one who can fix it, so she bands together with the animals to save this magical place and bring back the wonder in Wonderland.
Even though we’ve seen this before, it has enough pizzazz to keep itself engaging. In a nutshell, WONDER PARK is ALICE IN WONDERLAND without the acid trip. It’s cute, simple, quick and fun. A total joyride of innocence surfing a wave of imagination. It’s an uninhibited journey through a magical and thrilling amusement park. From the monumental Grand Wonder roller coaster, to the gravity-defying Zero-G Land, and sprinkled with colorful, charming characters, our protagonist’s personal playground takes the theme park experience to new heights.
It’s not SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE animation, or an enchanting Pixar adventure, but it’s sweet enough to make you smile.
