SESAC Latina Congratulates Its Nominees For The 2016 Premio Lo Nuestro
SESAC Latina-affiliated artists earned nominations at the Premio Lo Nuestro 2016 in all genres, including Pop, Rock, Tropical, Urban and Regional Mexican.
Nicky Jam spent over 30 weeks at #1 on the singles charts with his smash “El Perdón.” Jam, a pioneer of Latin Urban music, is nominated in five categories: Collaboration of the Year, alongside Enrique Iglesias; Album of the Year; Artist of the Year (Urban); and Song of the Year (Urban) for “El Perdón” plus another of his compositions.
Another influential act, Calibre 50, has earned three nominations: Artist of the Year (General); along with Group or Duo of the Year and Norteño Artist of the Year, both in the Regional Mexican category.
And the exciting up and coming artist, Javier Rosas, who has recently garnered significant airplay, is nominated for Rising Artist of the Year (General).
The creative roster of SESAC Latina has songwriting credits for three of the five nominations of Song of the Year (Regional Mexican): Rubén Esli Castellanos for “Hasta Que Salga El Sol,” performed by Banda Los Recoditos; Karenia Cervantes, for “Levantando Polvadera,” performed by Voz de Mando; and Luciano Luna, for “Soltero Disponible,” performed by Régulo Caro.
Additionally, the renowned Colombian singer and songwriter Fonseca is the co-writer of the Song of the Year (Pop-Rock) nominee “Juntos,” performed by Juanes. Furthermore, the acclaimed Cuban duo and recent Latin Grammy® winner Gente D’ Zona (Randy Malcom and Alexander Delgado), is nominated for the third consecutive year among the best tropical artists.
