It’s only February and Nacional Records is already having an amazing year! We’ve got lots of exciting news to share this week, including a Billboard Latin Music Award nomination for us as a label, new albums from Kinky and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra this week, a stunning performance from Ana Tjioux at the Grammy Premiere Ceremony and Tijoux’s ‘Vengo’ as iTunes’ Single of the Week and if that was not enough, we also have the video premiere for Elastic Bond’s ‘Nada Mas’ in People en Español.

Nacional Records is nominated for a Billboard Latin Music Award for the Latin Rhythm Albums Label of the Year.  With this nomination, we once again prove that we can jump around from genre to genre in this ever changing and defining Latin music space! The Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music and winners will be announced at a ceremony in Miami on April 30th.

Kinky’s MTV Unplugged album debuted #1 on iTunes this week and the album’s first single, “A Donde Van los Muertos?” featuring Carla Morrison http://youtu.be/kinky was Monday’s ‘Top Tune’ on KCRW. Kinky kicked off their U.S. tour this week in California and are announcing a full US tour including a stop at South by Southwest in March.

Fresh off a dynamic performance at the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony (Pre-Telecast) where she wowed the audience at the Nokia Theatre and millions more across the world watching online, Ana Tijoux’s title track from her Grammy nominated album ‘Vengo’ is iTunes’ Free Single of the Week.  Buzz continues to grow around ‘Vengo’ which has been praised as a ‘Best of 2014’ by Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Times, NPR Music, and many more. Ana Tijoux’s coast to coast U.S. tour begins in April. Download the single here: https://itunes.apple.com/vengo

Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra is celebrating their 25th anniversary with the U.S. release of their new album, ‘Ska Me Forever’ which boasts their unique blend of rock, jazz, ska and punk. ‘Ska Me Forever’ marks a significant milestone for the ever-evolving band who have brought their dynamic live show to audiences worldwide, including performances at Coachella, Vive Latino, the Supersonico Festival, and Warped Tour.  The limited-edition vinyl sold out within a day of its release but fret not, it is now available here: http://amazon.com/Tokyo-Paradise-Orchestra

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Elastic Bond’s new video for ‘Nada Mas’ premiered today via People en Español. ‘Nada Mas’ is off Elastic Bond’s debut album ‘Real’ and features their signature blend of bossa nova, jazz, funk, and a little electronica while the futuristic video tells the story of two adorable robots who fall in love. We fell in love with this band when we first put this album out and will keep on working it till there is something new! Watch the video here:http://peopleenespanol.com/elastic-bond
