"The Lifestyle Health and Wellness Expo Review"

The Lifestyle Health and Wellness Expo 1Let us in! Let us in! These are the words that the crowd shouted as they patiently waited in the freezing cold at Skylight One Hanson to enter into the sold out iHeartRadio’s Lifestyle Health and Wellness Expo. This was the second annual event held in Brooklyn, NY. There were a few issues prior to the event including ticket info, delayed check-in time and capacity. To warm up the crowd, sponsor 1iota held a contest for a Dr. Oz meet and greet. It was an instagram contest and you had to hashtag the expo and 1iota for a chance to win. Winners were announced on their instagram and on-site prior to the doors opening. Once winners were announced, they were taken inside to meet the man of the hour Dr.Oz. He and other panelists Power 105’s Angela Yee, 103.5 KTU’s Carolina Bermudez, The Chew’s Carla Hall and RHONJ’s Albie Manzo were a few of the special guests for meet and greets and panel discussions on health, healthy eating and fitness. Doors opened at 10am and attendees rushed to the nearest vendors to grab giveaways (Puff‘s soft pack facial tissues, blk water, reusable bags, candles, t-shirts etc.). The tissue brand Puffs provided complimentary full face makeup and 5 minute massage services throughout the event. Most of the vendors were health providers that held consultations, information sessions and health test. Those who were not interested in the giveaways, rushed to the limited seats to see Dr. Oz.

Dr. Oz officially kicked off the event with a discussion on major health issues and healthy eating tips. The event was in a former bank and was very tight spaced, which made it hard to hear or see Dr. Oz. Anglea Yee and Carolina Bermudez hosted a panel featuring Carla Hall, Plus Size Model Denise Bidot and other panelists. During the discussion, fitness, health awareness, eating tips were among the topics discussed. Denise Bidot also spoke about being the first plus size model to walk NYFW. As attendees roamed through the event, some of the vendors held contest such as spin the wheel. Emblem Health’s major giveaway was a meet and greet with Angela Yee. The event was informative, which addressed many attendees’ health concerns. Others that attended probably didn’t care about the nature of the event. Some of their objectives were grabbing as many freebies. If you are suffering from a health condition or wanted to gain more insight on being healthy, you came to the right place. Health comes first and do not be afraid if there is an issue. We live in a country with opportunities including affordable health care. Do what’s best for you and not for others.
