The nominees for the sixteenth annual Latin GRAMMY awards were released today through the digital platform LatinGrammy.com and the songwriter, singer and musician Julieta Venegasreceived two nominations within the categories Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year for her single “Ese Camino“.

The song is the first single that was released from Julieta Venegas‘ new studio album Algo Sucede which was recently released in August and reached the top preference spots on the radios in the U.S., Mexico, Latin America and Spain. This is the fourteenth Latin Grammy nomination that the interpreter has received in the same prestigious awards that has recognized her career five times.

Julieta will be performing tonight at the Latin  GRAMMY®Acoustic Session in Los Angeles, CA,  at the Fonda Theater.

The 16th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will broadcast live on November 19th by the Univision Network (8 p.m. eastern / 7 p.m. central) from the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

In 2001, Julieta Venegas received her first two Latin Grammy nominations for her album Bueninvento in the categories Best Rock Solo Vocal Album and Best Rock Song for “Hoy no quiero.” In 2004 with her album Si, Julieta was nominated in three of the most important categories: Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Andar Conmigo” and received her first Latin Grammy in the Best Rock Solo Vocal Album category for Si. In 2006’s Latin Grammys, Julieta was one of the favorites along with Shakira with four nominations in the categories: Record of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video for “Me Voy,” and Best Alternative Music Album for Limon y Sal where she obtained her second Latin Grammy.  In the 2008 edition, Julieta interpreted “El presente” and obtained a Latin Grammy in two categories: Best Alternative Music Album and Best Long Form Music Video for her MTV Unplugged. In this year, she was also nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her single “El presente.” In 2010, she received her fifth prestigious award in the Best Short Form Music Video category for “Bien o mal”. Overall in her career, Julieta has obtained five Latin Grammys and has received a total of thirteen nominations.
