On February 27th, music fans from across the globe will have the opportunity to own a piece of history from their favorite musical icons. The auction will feature over 225 guitars and instruments associated with music legends such as Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen and Elvis Presley and will be available to guitar collectors around the world at Bohemian National Hall (321 East 73rd) and online at bothliveauctioneers.com and invaluable.com. The auction, one of the largest of the year of music-related items, will also offer guitars from other eras including acoustic instruments from as far back as the 1880s and extend to a variety of very rare guitars.

Guitar Highlights Include:

  • A 1952 Gibson Super 400 CES 7-string made for late studio guitarist Tony Mottola
  • Two “In Cold Blood” guitars, one used in the 1967 Academy Award-winning movie based on the blockbuster book by Truman Capote, and the other owned by the actual murderer Perry Smith
  • A 1959 Gibson owned by Franny Beecher
  • Four guitars associated with Eric Clapton (two are signed)
  • Jimi Hendrix’s guitar strap from Woodstock
