SESAC Latina affiliate and Guatemala native Gaby Moreno is to perform at the 28th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards, which take place September 17 at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, DC.

This event, presented by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, is hosted by the legendary singer and actress Rita Moreno. It will honor such icons as the movie director Robert Rodríguez, trumpet player Arturo Sandoval and Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martínez. Attendees also include influential personalities from U.S. politics, science and business.

José Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of Hispanic Heritage Foundation, says, “We’re very pleased with this outstanding lineup that’s being directed by the incomparable Rita Moreno.” He added that “the evening will certainly be entertaining, meaningful and inspirational.”

The 2015 Hispanic Heritage Awards ceremony will broadcast nationwide October 9 on PBS.
