Fantine is on fire! The singing sensation who is currently heating up the dance charts has been nominated for a 28th Annual Premios Lo Nuestro Award in the coveted category of Tropical-Female Artist of the Year.

Gloria and Emilio Estefan’s  protégé was recently listed as one of Billboard’s “Latin Artists on the Rise,” and her latest single “What a Day” featuring Wyclef Jean and El Cata peaked at No. 4 on the magazine’s dance chart proving she’s poised to make major waves in the music world.

Univision’s 28th Annual “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” honors the top talents in Latin Music and nominees include Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos, Maná, Marc Anthony, and Nicky Jam.

“I am ecstatic and honored to be nominated for such a prestigious award and to be listed amongst the talented group of artists. I love performing Latin music,” she says.

“The live violins, trumpets, congas, and percussion creates a dynamic fusion and represents who I am.”

Raised in Australia, the Dominican beauty brought her unique flavor to the states after linking up with Grammy-winning duo, Emilio andGloria Estefan in 2013.

Her hit song, “Bachata De Rosa” was top 15 on the Billboard Tropical Chart and helped catapult her onto the Latin Music scene and her song, “Reservation For Two” solidified her spot as a mainstay in the genre when it peaked at No. 5 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs list. Fans across the globe have hailed her sultry sound ever since.

Fantine has since performed for First Lady Michelle Obama, toured with Dave Stewart from Eurythemics, performed at Miami Beach’s Centennial celebration concert, Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame, and opened for Erykah Badu at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The 28th annual “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Música Latina” will broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, February 18, 2016 via Univision Network and Univision NOW. Winners are chosen by popular vote from Dec. 1 until Dec. 20, 2015 on www.premioslonuestro.com.
