L – R: Tim (voiced by Miles Bakshi) discovers Boss Baby’s (voiced by Alec Baldwin) surprising secret in DreamWorks Animation THE BOSS BABY | © 2017

THE BOSS BABY introduces audiences to one of the most unique babies (Alec Baldwin) to ever hit the screen. He wears a suit, speaks, acts like a tough guy, and pretty much has everything under control. Well… almost everything. Told from the point-of-view of a delightful 7-year-old narrator named Tim (Miles Christopher Bakshi), the story answers the universal question of how new babies impact a family. (Or a country!)

In a nutshell, THE BOSS BABY is exactly what one would imagine: cute, fun and funny. (To an extent) And although its “talking baby” concept isn’t original per se, it’s full of delightful moments as it does present a unique take on a little one’s first arrival. It doesn’t really carry the pizzazz a Disney film would (than again, what does?), but it’s decent. There are jokes that crash harder than a toy hitting the floor after its thrown by a rambunctious, temperamental president, but it’s overseen with others that do hit as the narrative plays on. It’s a pleasant 97 minutes of fair entertainment. Great voice cast, and interesting story… This film will definitely break the stork vs baby factory ice between parents and kids on the ride home.
