For the eighteenth episode of season five and the 100th episode of the entire podcast run, this show was recorded at the Greene Space/WNYC Studios in front of a live sold out studio audience. The crew starts off the show by explaining the brief history of LOL. Then each member of the group lists their favorite moments from the first 100 episodes. Rachel also shares some not so memorable moments from Mother’s Day.
On this week’s ,”Bochinche Bites”, Jaime dishes on Utah banning liquor in karaoke and axe throwing bars, cocaine found in UK shrimp and some suggestions for potential podcast segments for Juan Bago.
On “Frankspiracy News”, Frank breaks down the Saturn-Cube connection and how it influences everything from advertising to religion.
The crew’s first guest of the night is film unit director of Saturday Night Live, Oz Rodriguez, who tells us what it’s like directing digital shorts, new pilot he shot for NBC, and gives us an update on a feature film he wrote and directed, “Vampires vs. The Bronx.”
The crew also sat with Lin-Manuel Miranda and his father Luis A. Miranda, Jr. about their dynamic, how they balance work and family life, and what would happen if they switched places for a day. We also pitched Lin some new characters for the “In The Heights” film and played a trivia game where Lin and Luis go up against Bago and Jaime to test their knowledge of all things Washington Heights.
