Recipe: La Fuente Created by Austin Mixologist Erin Ashford

Upon her arrival in Austin for SXSW to promote her new movie, Baby Driver, Eiza Gonzalez attended Agave and EEEEEATS, a curated dinner series from Tequila Don Julio, The Infatuation and #HashtagLunchbag. Eiza and 60 guests started their night with the actress’s favorite cocktail, a riff on the classic Paloma, made with Tequila Don Julio 70.

The Mexican American actress looked stunning in a Prabal Gurung black suit as she sat for a family style meal from Chef Michael Fojtasek paired with Don Julio cocktails from Mixologist Erin Ashford of Austin’s acclaimed Olamaie restaurant.

While enjoying their dinner, guests were also helping the local community, as the chef prepared a bagged lunch on behalf of each attendee that was distributed the following day to those in need in Austin via charity partner #HashtagLunchbag.

You can recreate the drink at home with the recipe below.

 

Ingredients:

1 1/4 oz Tequila Don Julio 70

1/2 oz Italian Aperitif

3/4 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice

1 tsp Fresh Lime Juice

1 tsp Simple Syrup

2 drops Chili Lime Bitters

Sparkling Mineral Water and Pinch of Salt to Top

Grapefruit Peel and Rosette for Garnish

 

Preparation:

  1. Combine Tequila Don Julio 70, Italian Aperitif, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and chili lime bitters into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.
  2. Strain contents into a glass over ice.
  3. Top with sparkling mineral water and pinch of salt. Garnish with grapefruit peel and rosette.
