In collaboration with the Ventura County Community College District and Oxnard College,Rick Najera’sLatino Thought Makers Holiday Specialwill take place onWednesday, December 7, 2016, at 7pm, as the second show in the fourth season of the production’s residency atOxnard College (4000 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, CA).
This year’s LTM Holiday Special will feature a live musical performance byBianca Marroquinwho has played the role of Roxie Hart inChicagoon Broadway, appeared onDancing with the Stars (ABC),Pequenos Gigantes (Univision)andIn the Heights, and served as a judge onMira Quien Baila (Univision). Bianca’s performance will be accompanied by musicianBill Meyer. Also joining the holiday event are special guest comediansFrancisco Ramos(Last Comic Standing, Netflix, and Comedy Central) andErnie G. (Comedy Central, B.E.T., Mun2, and Good Day LA). Award-winning actor/writer/directorRick Najera(CBS, Hulu’sEast Los High,Mad TV, andIn Living Color) will host the event.
The Latino Thought MakersSeriesis a nationally recognized forum that showcases the careers of prominent Latinos in Hollywood. Featured actors and notable guests have includedEdward James Olmos, Danny Trejo, Josefina Lopez, Luis Guzman, Esai Morales, Emilio Rivera, Lisa Vidal, Marco Antonio Regil,the family of Cesar Chavez, Carlos Portugaland his cast from Hulu’sEast Los High, and many more. “Oxnard College is proud to host this innovative series, which is both inspirational for our students and a great resource for our community,” says Oxnard College PresidentDr. Cynthia E. Azari. “Latino Thought Makers showcases critical thinking as it relates to entertainment and education and provides the audience an opportunity to be a part of a greater dialogue. Latino Thought MakersHoliday Special will take place at Oxnard College Performing Arts Building onWednesday, December 7at 7pm at 4000 S. Rose Ave, Oxnard, CA 93033. Doors open at 6:30pm. The event is open to the public. Entrance and parking areFREE. A $5 donation is suggested to benefit the Oxnard College Foundation supporting student scholarships in the arts.
